Class 1: This week we had so much fun! We made our own volcano in connection with the third day of creation, because on day #3 G-d created volcanoes along with trees and grass, vegetables and fruit. We also finished off learning about kosher. We learnt how milk and meat never mix. We tried mixing colored water and when we mixed the red and blue waters, it changed colors!!!! We played 4 corners and even set our own milk/meat place. On day #3 Hashem created plants, grass, flowers, fruits....so we made our own grass heads which will one day really grow grass! Day #4 was really yummy, on that day Hashem created the sun, moon and stars, so we made our own edible galaxy. We used sunkist as the sun, sprinkles for stars and moon cookies for the moon!

Class 2: Today we played a fun history review game and continued learning about Avraham and how he was ready to sacrifice his son Yitzchak.

We then learned all about the mitzvah of Tzedakah and that it is better to give a little bit of money everyday than a lot of money but not as often. We decorated Tzedakah boxes which will help us do this mitzvah daily.

Congratulations to Grayson for passing White Aleph and is now on red!!! Everyone is really advancing in their hebrew reading skills, and are anxious continue passing more levels.

Hebrew school is so much fun! With all our hands on activities we sure learn and enjoy it all too! We look foward to seeing your children every sunday with their bright smiles!

We moved along in kosher learning all about kosher birds and animals. We had a kosher bird hunt and pretended to be kosher animals by chewing our own cuds....I think cows are a little more proffesional on that....Then we continued learning about the seven days of creation. We learnt how before Hashem created the world there was nothing, then on the first day Hashem made light and darkness so we made chocolate and vanilla pudding! That was yum! On day number two hashem split the waters to waters of above- rain and the waters from below- the sea! We played a fun game where we had to split to where we belonged- sky or sea! Hebrew school was so much fun this week! Cant wait to see you all next week!

Wow what a fun day of Hebrew School! That Aleph Champ flashcard game really showed how well we know how to read. Then we quickly went on our way to Albertsons for our kosher symbol hunt. There really is a lot of kosher food out there! On our way back we found out that we were going to bake yummy chocolate chip cookies. This helped us understand the role of a kosher supervisor- Mashgiach, and what he does to allow kosher symbols on food.

This week we learnt that there are 3 categories of food: meat, milk and parve. Meat and milk can never be mixed and we have to wait a certain amount of time before eating milk after meat and vice versa. We played a kosher candy land game to help us remember how much time we have to wait.

In history we finished learning about Adam and Chava and learnt all about Noach and why Hashem decided to bring a flood to the world.

We learnt all about the kosher symbols and even went to Albertsons for our very own Scavenger hunt! We learnt about how kosher fish have fins and scales. Morah Esty brought in gold fish and we felt those fins and scales! Then we checked eggs for blood spots! We had such an amazing time! Then we had a 7 day of creation hunt and we learnt all about how Hashem creasted the world in 6 days and rested on Shabbos!

This week was extremely busy. We learnt some more aleph beis in Aleph Champ... we're really progressing!

Then we learnt all about the next two holidays coming up- Yom Kippur and Sukkot. We learnt what a special day Yom Kippur is-the Shabbos of all Shabboses- the adults dont eat, we don't wear leather shoes, we daven a lot... We got a special tour around the Shul, seeing all the important and holy places and even got to kiss the Torah in the Ark! Some of us also made slippers for Yom Kippur when we don't wear leather shoes.

For Sukkot, the holiday of joy, we made mini edible sukkahs- this is where we eat for all 8 days of Sukkot. Then we made our own lulav and esrog- we learnt that we shake all 4 kinds together on sukkot to unite all kinds of Jews.

We learnt a lot this week! Can't wait to see you at kids program on Thursday- Yom Kippur- and then for the Sukkah party on October 16th!

This week wasn't a regular Hebrew School day. We had such a fun time at all different booths making shana tova cards, honey jars that looked like bees and decorating honey cookies all in honor of Rosh Hashana coming up.

Then we all went outside to see where real shofars come from and to choose our own shofar to saw, sand and shellack. We were so excited to bring our very own shofars home!

Waiting to see you all next time!

Hebrew School this week was great! We're all settled in, got to know our new teachers, some new classmates... This week we started our new Aleph Champ books ... we can't wait to be professional Hebrew readers!

We also learnt about all the things we do on Rosh Hashana, which is coming up very soon. We did an activity or project for each thing- ate apple in honey (caramel!), made our very own shofars, painted pomegranates full of seeds (we almost counted till 613!), watched our bad deeds disappear so we can be clean new people, raced to be the head and not the tail cuz we always want to be at the tippy top and we found a machzor that we daven with on Rosh Hashana.

We had such a busy week! Can't wait to see you next week at 3:00 to join our very own shofar factory!!!

Welcome Back to Hebrew School!!

Welcome back everyone!!! We're so excited to start a new year at Hebrew School with you!! We already started on our theme- A Better Me Makes A Better World- making the world better by us being the best we can be! We also made a king coming out in the field, because now, before Rosh Hashana, we can ask whatever we wish because Hashem is especially close to us this month. And we of course reviewed the Alef Beis to become an Aleph Champ!

Stay posted to hear all our Hebrew School updates!
